Mr. Mark A. Herbert, 51, of Burlington died at 8:03 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Great River Medical Center.
Born September 24, 1961 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of William and Patricia Ann Schantzenbach Herbert. On July 15, 1983 he married Carol DeLisle in Junction City, Kansas.
Mr. Herbert was an Army veteran. He was an auto mechanic and worked at Dayco Services in Burlington. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR Racing, football and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Herbert of Burlington; two sons, Robert J. DeLisle and Mark Herbert Jr. both of Burlington; three daughters, Marie Newcomb of St. Louis, Missouri, Amanda Newcomb and Linda (Juan) Lopez both of Burlington; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Tommy Herbert of Aurora, Colorado and Billy Herbert of West Virginia.
His grandparents and several aunts preceded him in death.
The celebration of life for Mr. Herbert will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 18th, at Union Baptist Full Gospel Church. Elder Lawrence Manson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites.
