Edward William Heuer, 79, of Allison, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville, Iowa. He was born on May 29, 1933, in Butler County, Iowa, to William "Bill" and Ida (Dralle) Heuer. Edward was united in marriage to Okelene Bakker on June 28, 1958, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Edward was a farmer until he retired in 1999. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Greene, Iowa. Edward is survived by his wife Okelene Heuer of Allison, sons Jerald (Karmella) Heuer of Clarksville, Joel (Kathy) Heuer of Allison, Jeffery (Karen) Heuer of Dumont, Jon (Brenda) Heuer of Allison and James Heuer of Allison, sister Deloris Harms of Osceola, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Ida.
Edward's wishes were for his body to be donated to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program. Family services will be held at a later date.
