Betty Jean (Heitland) Weaver, 85, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa. She was born Betty Jean Sims on April 16, 1927, in Mason City, Iowa, to John H. and Maude E. (Cook) Sims. Betty graduated from Sheffield High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Clarence Heitland on June 27, 1948, in Sheffield; he preceded her in death. Betty then married Burt Weaver on June 3, 1983, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton; he also preceded her in death. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, was active in the Women's circle and the Dorcas circle and helped make many quilts for world relief and for the River Side Bible Camp. Betty enjoyed dancing and playing bridge and 500. She is survived by her brother Donald Sims of Mason City, nieces and nephews Beth (Mike) Forbes, Nancy Sims, Keith (Kelly) Sims, Jane (Chad) Terry, Barbara (Roger) Krull, Kathy (Jack) Shea, Todd Becker and Tom Becker, fifteen great nieces and nephews and six great great nieces and nephews.
