Charles "Chuck" Garner WILTON, Iowa - Charles "Chuck" Garner, 67, died on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the West Liberty Community Center. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Community Center. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Charles was born on September 3, 1945, in Keithsburg, Illinois, the son of John and Nell E. Ware Garner. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. On June 30, 1973, he was united in marriage to Carol McNamara in Joy, Illinois. Chuck had worked with Union Local #150 as an operating engineer, operating heavy equipment for more than 40 years. He loved spending time at his cabin in New Boston, Illinois, where his door was always open to friends and family dropping in for drinks or coffee. He enjoyed fishing, boating, building things, golfing, collecting coins and was said to never know a stranger. He loved his kids and grandchildren.
