Helen "Minnie" Phipps

Helen "Minnie" Phipps, 96, of Keokuk, died at 12:34 PM Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Lexington Square in Keokuk. She was born on February 18, 1916, in Clarinda, Iowa, a daughter to William and Minnie Bails Crawford. She married Kenneth L Parks and then married Leland Phipps in 1951. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2013. Minnie lived in the Keokuk are since 1943. She was a press operator at Artistic Cleaners. She was a honorary member of Boys Town. She had attended First Christian Church in her earlier years. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (James) Lovell of Keokuk; two sons, Robert Parks of Wilmington, CA, and Jimmy Parks of Taylor, MO; two grandchildren, Lynda Gougler and David Lovell, both of Murphy, NC; a niece, Shirley Crawford of Clarinda, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, and a brother. A graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M., on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Park, Keokuk, Iowa with Reverend Terry Lovell officiating. There will be no visitation. [more]
