Frieda M. Lieb

Frieda Meyer Lieb was born July 21, 1911, near Whittemore, Iowa, at the home of her parents, William and Alvina (Bell) Meyer. She was baptized on August 13, 1911, and confirmed on April 5, 1925, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Whittemore. She received her education at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Whittemore. On February 2, 1932, Frieda was united in marriage to Edwin Lieb from the Lotts Creek area, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Whittemore. They farmed in the Lotts Creek area until retiring in 1975. She was a homemaker, helped with the farming, raising livestock and always had a large garden. In 1979, they moved to a home in Algona. They were active members of Lotts Creek Immanuel Lutheran Church before transferring to Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking for family, relatives and friends. She was a graduate of Snow's College of Dressmaking, completing her training in February of 1929. Frieda became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society - Algona in July of 2004. She died there on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the age of 101 years 9 months and 6 days.
