Dale Philip Butler, age 26 formerly of Colfax, died Saturday, April 27, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Colfax with burial following at the Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Colfax. Memorials may be directed to the Dale Butler Memorial Fund and condolences may be left at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com. The son of Reverend Philip and Jeannette (McKean) Butler, Dale was born on April 13, 1987 in Monroe, Wisconsin. Dale graduated from Colfax - Mingo High School in 2005. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2010 and was currently serving in the Air National Guard in Nebraska. He was also currently studying at the University of Nebraska Omaha to become a commercial pilot. Dale accepted Christ in his life in June of 1996 at a Billy Graham Crusade in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a member of the UNO Flying Mavs and received several awards and medals from the United States Air Force and the Flying Mavs Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Reverend Philip and Jeannette Butler of Colfax; two sisters Holly (Ryan) Jochims of Omaha, Nebraska and Melinda (Nick) Harshbarger of Bellevue, Nebraska; a nephew, Trey; a niece Brianna; his grandmothers, Shirley Butler of Greene, Iowa and Bernice McKean of Williamson, Georgia as well as several cousins, aunts and uncles. Dale will also be greatly missed by his many friends including his UNO Flying Mavs family and the 155th Refueling Wing. Preceding him in death was his grandfather's, Paul Butler and Robert McKean.
