Edward J. Koszarek

Edward J. Koszarek, of Antigo, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Homme Home in Wittenberg under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 95 years old. He was born on October 2, 1917 in Antigo, son of the late Joseph and Angeline (Macnikowski) Koszarek. He married Florence Prasalowicz on August 21, 1948 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death on August 21, 2012. He attended Boulder Hill Grade School, St. Hyacinth Grade School and was a graduate of Antigo High School. As a young man he worked in logging camps and at Vulcan Corporation in Antigo. He then moved to Milwaukee and was employed as a lathe operator at Falk Corporation. Mr. Koszarek served in the United States merchant marine. Following his time in the service he returned to Antigo and worked for Antigo Milk Products for 34 years retiring in 1979. Mr. Koszarek enjoyed gardening, biking, hiking, fishing, reading and playing cards. Survivors include a son, Gary L. by four brothers, Felix, Cashmere, Bernard and Leo; and two sisters, Sophie and Kate. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Reverend Omer Kelley officiating. Inurnment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
