Matthew Robert Eichner

Matthew Robert Eichner, age 32, of Spirit Lake and Iowa City, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at his home in Spirit Lake. He was born on November 2, 1980, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Robert and Karen Eichner. In 1985, the family moved to Spirit Lake, and Matt graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1999, and the University of Iowa, where he earned a BA in English. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Chicago Cubs, reading, watching many different genres of movies and writing. Matt had a very witty sense of humor. He will be missed deeply by his friends and family! Matt is survived by his parents, Robert and Karen Eichner of Spirit Lake; and his brother, Ben Eichner, and his wife, Kate Sherer Eichner of Des Moines. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013, from 12:00P.M. until 2:00P.M. at the Schuchert Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in Matthew's name to the N.W.
