Ramona L. (Carlson)( Block) Jacobson, 83, of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at her home. A service honoring Ramona's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 20, at Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Dayton Cemetery. The visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Ramona is survived by her niece-stepdaughter Julie (Marc) Clausen, Panora, IA; two granddaughters, Amy (Peter) Arentson and Susan Clausen; and one great-grandchild Elaine Arentson and one great-grandchild on the way; her brother Francis 'Sonny' Carlson, Harcourt; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband's Arnold Block and Curtis Jacobson, and her sister Dorothy Jacobson. Ramona L. Carlson, the daughter of Francis R. and Mildred (Jackson) Carlson, was born December 9, 1929 near Harcourt. She graduated from Harcourt High School in 1947. On March 22, 1947, Ramona was united in marriage to Arnold Block in Fort Dodge. They lived in the Harcourt area until 1957 when they moved to California. Arnold preceded Ramona in death in 1970. e lived until 1976. On December 9, 1976 she was united in marriage to Curtis Jacobson in Fort Dodge. Curtis preceded Ramona in death in 2012. Ramona was a homemaker. Ramona was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Interfaith Forum, Church Women United, Women of Church CLCW and past member of the Harcourt Greenfield Hartquist Legion Auxiliary. Ramona enjoyed her grandchildren, helping at church, Operation Christmas, sewing, taking care of her flowers and making craft projects.
