Nancy Gail Skog, 75, of Keokuk, Iowa, died early morning, Thursday, May 16, 2013, at her home. Nancy was born August 23, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Harry Raymond and Zenora Elaine Christensen Buck. Nancy graduated from Granite High School in 1956 and attended business school. She then moved to Los Angeles, California, where she met Donald. Nancy married Donald Skog on May 4, 1962, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later sealed in the temple in Salt Lake City. She had lived in the Keokuk area for 51 years and had been employed by Pamida Department Stores, Farmers' Insurance Group, and the Heritage Center preparing "Meals on Wheels". She was a member of the Keokuk Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her many interests included baking, sewing, embroidery work, knitting, gardening, and bird watching. She loved flowers and making sugar cookies with her grandchildren. She and Don enjoyed making homemade pizza and sharing it with their family. Several of her grandchildren called her "Grandma Peaches". husband Terry of Hamilton, Illinois, Loren Skog and wife Sheri of Mesa, Arizona and Jason Skog and wife Laura of Nauvoo, Illinois; and fifteen grandchildren, Kira Skog, Spencer Skog, Megan Skog, Marissa Skog, Cole Turner, Chloe Turner, Carson Turner, Kieran Collinet, Nicholas Decker, Kaleb Collinet, Emmitt Skog, Constance Skog, Chris Skog, Lily Skog, and Will Skog. She is also survived by a brother, Lynn Buck and wife Marsha of Downey, Idaho; four sisters, Rayola Moriarty of Idaho; Pauline Spirz and husband Ernie of Santa Barbara, California, Dorene Colledge and husband Larry of Sandy, Utah, and Maylene Perkins and husband Gary of Sandy, Utah; and several nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson Nathaniel Skog; a sister Margie Postma; and a sister and brother in infancy. A service to celebrate her life will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 3238 Brookshire Drive in Keokuk. Burial will follow in Scandinavian Cemetery in rural Keokuk. Visitation will be after 3:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2013 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 Monday evening.
