Diana Jean Carrell

Diana Jean Carrell, 66, of Keokuk, died at 8:35 AM Friday, May 17, 2013, at Lexington Square in Keokuk. Diana was born March 23, 1947, in Keokuk, a daughter of Ernest William and Dorothy Mae Taylor Guymon. She first married James Stephenson and later married Edward Carrell. She lived most of her life in the Keokuk area. She had been employed by Foote Mineral in Keokuk as a kitchen worker, by Hope Haven Shelter in Burlington, and by Casebine Community Credit Union as an office worker. Diana was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and participated in many Bible study groups. She enjoyed playing games, card games, puzzles, "soap operas" on television and spending time outdoors. Diana was a hard worker and her children and family were her life. She is survived by three children, Robert Stephenson and wife Crystal of Keokuk, Elizabeth Colella and husband Steven of Keokuk, and Christina Lear and husband Don of Keokuk; six grandchildren, Connor and Megan Stephenson, Dustin and Ashley Colella, and Kelsey and Brandon Newlan. Guymon of Oklahoma, Dennis Guymon of Burlington, Iowa, Wanda Howell of Cameron, Illinois, and Karen Hayden and husband Roger of Keokuk; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Diana was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Darrell Guymon, and Rodger Guymon in infancy. Services to celebrate her life will be at 9:00 AM Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center 917 Blondeau Street, Keokuk with Pastor Jim Campbell officiating. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home following the service. Cremation will follow.
