Arlene Borsgard

Arlene was born on October 12, 1932, in Windom, Minnesota to the late Alvie and Isabel (Kerns) Borer. She was baptized and later confirmed at the Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Bergen, Minnesota. She received her education from Windom High School and graduated with the Class of 1951. She worked at Bell Telephone in high school and after she graduated until it closed. On April 20, 1952, Arlene was united in marriage to Sedrick Borsgard at Hauges Lutheran Church in rural Bergen. This marriage was blessed with three sons, Craig, David, and Richard. Arlene worked throughout her lifetime at Ostenson Village Shop, La Boutique, and the Stag in Windom where she enjoyed selling clothes and meeting many people. Arlene passed away on September 24, 2009, at the Sanford Regional Hospital in Worthington, Minnesota after battling with cancer for many years at the age of 76. Arlene was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Bergen where she was involved in the Ladies Aid. She was a 4-H Club Leader and will be remembered for baking wedding cakes, as that was her pride and joy. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. d by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Sedrick Borsgard of Windom; three sons, Craig Borsgard of rural Bergen; David Borsgard and special friend, Stacy Martin of rural Bergen; and Richard Borsgard and his wife, Vicky, of Windom; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.
