Mary Clare Hicks

Mary C. Hicks, 79, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at her home in Maquoketa, Iowa. Friends and family may gather in remembrance of Mary from 1 to 3 P.M. on Saturday, May 25, 2013, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation will follow the celebration and burial will be at a later date in Cabool, Missouri. Mary Clare Geber was born on March 14, 1934 in Bernard, Iowa, to Dorrance and Anastacia (Franzen) Geber. She was educated in Maquoketa Schools. Mary had worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa from 1949 to 1952, Clinton Garment Company from 1955 to 1964, Fordicks from 1983 to 1984 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, Manning Nursing Home in Maquoketa from 1985 to 1986 and Hoof/Dynagear from 1986 until retiring. In retirement she worked at Dawn's Diner in Maquoketa. Mary enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandkids, family and friends.
