ALFRED H. MEYER, JR.
Mr. Alfred Meyer, formerly of Barefoot Bay, FL and Paramus, NJ, passed away at his residence at Lasata Crossings in Cedarburg, WI, on Wednesday morning, May 22, 2013. He was 98 years old. Alfred was born in Jersey City, NJ on April 16, 1915, son of Alfred H. and Catherine Reilly Meyer. Following his schooling, he enlisted in the US Army, serving proudly during World War II. On March 5, 1941, Alfred was united in marriage with Louise Hottman in Jersey City. Mr. Meyer worked as a Claims Adjuster, retiring from Harleysville Insurance in 1980. The couple moved to Florida shortly after that and settled in Barefoot Bay. They had recently moved to Wisconsin, to be closer to their daughter. Alfred was a longtime member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, and was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Sebastian, FL chapter. He enjoyed socializing and spending time with his family. Mr. Meyer is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Louise, and their three children: Arlene (Leonard) Mentovay of Belgium, WI, John "Jack" (Jacqueline) Meyer of Paramus, NY and Carol (David Bikofsky) Meyer of Needham, MA. dren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington Friday, May 24th, from 12 noon until services at 1PM. Military Honors will follow.
