Alta L. Ellestad

McFarland - Alta L. Ellestad on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, joined her husband, Adolph Ellestad, in heaven, now together in their final home. Alta was born June 1, 1917 in the Town of Blooming Grove to Henry and Elsie (Pape) Gausman. She and Adolph were married on October 7th, 1939 at Monona Lutheran Church. They farmed in the McFarland Area for many years. They moved to the Village of McFarland in 1985. Alta was a member of McFarland Lutheran Church since 1939, where she was a member of the Martha Circle and the quilters. She was also a member of McFarland Senior Citizens. She enjoyed making pies and other treats, as well as having breakfast with her family at Spartan Bowl. In 2007 Alta moved to Harmony Assisted Living in McFarland. She is survived by her brother, Harvey (Ruth) Gausman of McFarland; nieces and nephews, Bill (Roz) Gausman, Judy (Bob) Mueller (Goddaughter) , Jim (Linda) Ellestad, Mark (Huldah) Ellestad, Betty (Bob) Kalhagen, all of the McFarland area and Sandra (Norman) Skoien of Middleton as well as Rose Ellestad of Whitewater. Please join us for a celebration of Alta's life at MCFARLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5529 Marsh Road, McFarland, on Wednesday, May 29th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kelli Schmit officiating. Burial will follow at the Lower McFarland Cemetery in McFarland. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Alta's care givers at Harmony Living, Agrace Hospice and Skaalen Home. The love and support everyone gave her was appreciated very much.
