On Thursday, May 30, 2013, the world lost a truly good man. Jimmie Lee Sandifer was born on August 15, 1939, in Jacksville, Alabama. Jimmie was blessed to have found true love and happiness not once, but twice. Sadly, Jimmie outlived both marriages, but he can be reunited with them now. It is now time for Jimmie's life to be celebrated by his six children; three of whom he raised from birth and three of whom he assumed with his second marriage. Along with his travels, Jimmie served in Airborne and Elite Special Forces. After honorably serving his country with no regrets, Jimmie found the same camaraderie with the Masons and Shriners, which was a perfect fit for a man whose common thread throughout his life was putting others' wants and needs above his own. Although the government said he was disabled, it never stopped Jimmie from any of his activities, whether it would be woodworking, remodeling or any wayward classic car or truck that he promised, "This is the one I will finish." a grateful nation. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue again on Wednesday, June 5 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 S. Ridge Road, from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. Cindy Warmbier-Meyer officiating.
