Mr. Milton Karrels, formerly of Random Lake and the Town of Belgium passed away Saturday morning, June 1, 2013 at his home in the Lakeview Terrace Retirement Community in Altoona, FL. He was 91 years old. Milton was born April 21, 1922 in the Town of Belgium, the son of Phillip and Anna Mayer Karrels. On November 18, 1944 he was united in marriage with Jean Deppiesse at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Random Lake. For many years, the couple ran the family dairy farm in the Town of Belgium. After retiring from the farm, Milton went on to work as the Golf Course Superintendent's Assistance at Squire's Golf Course from 1968-1975, and then as the head custodian at Ozaukee High School from 1975-1980 before returning to Squire's Golf Course as the Greens Superintendent from 1980-1996. In 2003, Milton and Jean moved to Florida. Milton was a member of St. Mary of the Lake in Eustis, FL and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Random Lake, and had also been active with the Catholic Foresters and the Holy Name Society. of the Town of Saukville, James (Mary) of the Town of Belgium, Eugene (Merrilyn) of Leesburg, FL, Janice (Ken) Depies of Tampa, FL, Rita (Lanny) Kissner of Kernsville, NC and Susan (Darryl) Zimdars of West Bend. He is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way, brother Leo Karrels of Port Washington, sister Betty Skebba of Cedarburg, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends in Wisconsin and Florida. Milton is preceded in death by his sisters: Julieanne Burmesch, Sally Krueger and infant Margaret Karrels. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Monday, June 10 at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish - St. Mary's Chapel, 230 Butler St. in Random Lake. He will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 4-6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
