Phyllis J. Myatt, 82, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Saturday evening, June 1, 2013, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. A private memorial service celebrating her life will be held from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. There is no public visitation. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa. Phyllis Joy Hute was born on March 5, 1931 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Ray Candill and Veda Faye (Nabb) Hute. She was a graduate of Maquoketa High School. She married Pierce Leon Myatt in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1975. Phyllis was a homemaker, farmed with her husband, and for a short time worked for the Jackson County Assessor's Office. She most notably had been a waitress for the Town & Country Bowling Lanes, Hayes Cafe and the Maquoketa Country Club. Phyllis was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Maquoketa, the Pythian Sisters and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid card player and enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs.
