Leonard K. Ditch, 63, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at his home in Maquoketa, Iowa, after a sudden illness. A celebration of Leonard's life will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, June 6, 2013, from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa where a 7:15 P.M. Scripture service will be held. Visitation will also be held after 10 A.M. Thursday at the church. Cremation will follow the celebration of Leonard's life. Leonard Kenneth Ditch was born on May 12, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Francis and Mary (Snobl) Ditch. He grew up in Mount Vernon and was a 1968 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He married Patricia Catherine Greiner on August 5, 1972 in Independence, Iowa. Leonard had worked various jobs early in his working career but his main vocations were farming, agriculture sales and wire locating services. Leonard was giving with his time, talent and resources and currently was serving on the Maquoketa Municipal Electric Utility board of directors. He had attended Sacred Catholic Church in Maquoketa. aying cards, especially euchre, hunting and the outdoors, anything Iowa Hawkeyes, westerns and boating. He was extremely passionate about fishing as it was his time to get away and think. He also enjoyed woodworking and was known as a handyman who could fix just about anything. He adored his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Those left to honor Leonard's memory include his wife, Patricia Ditch of Maquoketa, IA; daughters, Kristi (Jerry) Hyde of Ankeny, IA, Karri (John) Costello of Dike, IA, Traci (Casey) Stillmunkes of Rancho Mirage, CA and Tricia (Ryan) Clausen of Ankeny, IA; 7 grandchildren, Ella, Madalyn, Carson, Gabriel, Abigail, Luke and Kolton; brothers, Arnold (Dolores) Ditch of Cedar Rapids, IA, Delbert (Donna) Ditch of Cedar Rapids, IA, Stanley (Dorothy) Ditch of Cedar Rapids, IA and Larry (Sharon) Ditch of Cedar Rapids, IA; a sister, Mary (Dave) Shakespeare of Toddville, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
