o Forest City in 1984. Mildred was active in the farming operation and always kept a garden and did lots of canning. She raised chickens for the egg money. Her children remember her as being a "wonderful cook". She taught herself how to play the piano. In December of 2009 she moved to the Titonka Care Center, where she made her home and made many new friends. She enjoyed living there. Mildred is survived by her children, Bonnie Gonzalez of Seattle, WA., Mary Lee (Carlyle) Kiewiet of Forest City, Jon (Kathie) Ostrander of Thompson, and Gloria (Richard) Bachler of St. Charles, MO.; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one waiting to join the family; and a sister, Arlys Hendrickson of Humboldt, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; brothers, Lennea, Albert, Orville and Kenyon; and sisters, Ruth, Verlyene and Gloria.
