Michael Dean Swailes

Michael Dean Swailes, 39, of New London died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his home. Mr. Swailes was born January 31, 1974 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Ricky Dean and Cynthia Lee Northup Swailes. He was a 1992 graduate of New London High School and attended Southeastern Community College. He was of the Christian faith. He worked at Heatilator for many years. He enjoyed playing in a pool league, riding his Harley, fishing, drinking beer, demolition derbys, and spending time with friends and family. Mr. Swailes is survived by his father of New London; two children, Madeline Griffin and Griffin Burndt and their mother, Laura Christner, all of New London; five sisters, Shelley (Greg) Jochims of Burlington, Sherrey Grosland of Vesili, MN, Brittany Schill of Seattle, WA, Jackie Swailes of New London, and Kimberley Wolfe of Aberdeen, WA; three brothers, Hank Woon of Aberdeen, Jonathon Schill of Washington state, and Jake Swailes of New London; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. body has been cremated and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date. Friends may call after 9:00 AM on Saturday at the chapel with the family greeting friends for one hour prior to the service. Friends and family are encouraged to wear casual attire. A memorial has been established to the Make A Wish Foundation.
