Funeral services for Janice Louise Penningroth, 80, of Tipton who died Sunday, July 7, 2013 will be Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Tipton with Rev. Donnita Moeller officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm also at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Tipton. Burial will be in the Red Oak Cemetery, Tipton. A memorial has been established in memory of Janice.
Janice was born on March 28, 1933, in Champaign County, Illinois, the daughter of John and Grace Busboom Meier. After the death of Grace at a young age, John married Leota Meier, who essentially raised Janice. Janice was a high school graduate of Ogden High School, Illinois and attended Commercial College. On February 18, 1961, Janice was united in marriage to Darrel Dean Penningroth in Royal, Illinois. She was a homemaker, church organist, and was employed part-time at ACT. She was a member of the vocal group "Variety & Spice." Janice enjoyed spending winters in Mesa, Arizona. She was a Cub fan and liked to garden.
