th had been declining and he was placed in hospice care in his home in rural Storden where he passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the age of 84 years. Peder was a longtime member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden where he spent many years as custodian, was sexton for the church cemetery for over fifty years, served on the church council, advisor for the Luther League as well as many other capacities within the church. He also was active in his community with serving on the Storden School Board from 1968-1974 and a member of the Sons of Norway, Vestlands Laget, served as treasurer of the Hardanger Lag from 1999 to 2013 and served with several other groups and boards through the years in his community. Peder is survived by his four children, Peggy (Bob) Haken of Windom; Rhonda Klein of Monticello; Michael (Kate) Pederson of Brooklyn Park; Jeffrey (Morgen) Pederson of Storden; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition, Peder has many relatives still living in Norway that are very near and dear to him. Peder is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Ardith "Ardy" Pederson who passed away on May 7, 2013.
