Wayne Andrew Henessee

Mr. Wayne Andrew Henessee, 74, of New London, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City. Mr. Henessee was born May 8, 1939 in New London, the son of Merle L. and Treva L. Waddle Henessee. On June 14, 1959 he married Darlene K. Underwood in New London. He worked at IAAP in telephone maintenance for 38 ½ years, retiring in 2002. He was a 1956 graduate of New London High School and an active member of the New London United Methodist Church. Mr. Henessee was a member of the United Methodist Men, enjoyed all New London athletics and sports in general, and was an avid Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed playing cards and attending his grandchildren's events. Mr. Henessee is survived by his wife; one daughter, Brenda (Charles) Clark of Marion; two sons, Michael (Susan) of Wilton, and Jeffrey (Robin) of Marion; seven grandchildren, Bryan (Jessie) Clark, Alyssa (Jesse) Halweg, Drew Clark, Thomas Henessee, Jon Henessee, Spencer Henessee, and Kaitlyn Henessee.
