Mr. Robert A. Wagner, 89, of Danville, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at Danville Care Center.
Born August 8, 1923 in Danville, he was the son of Arthur and Gretchen (Anderson) Wagner. He married Cyrene Mathews on June 5, 1942. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2012.
Mr. Wagner was a 1940 graduate of Danville High School. He was a lifelong farmer, which he considered a hobby instead of work.
He was a sports fan and enjoyed time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Danville United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher and a 4-H leader.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia (J.D.) Stucker of Danville; two sons, Tom (Becky) Wagner of Danville and John (Beverly) Wagner of Amana; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Kathleen Mathews of New London and one brother-in-law, Wendell Mathews of Mesa, Arizona.
Memorials have been established for Danville United Methodist Church and Danville Care Center.
