Mary Ort WEST LIBERTY, Iowa--Mary Ort, 85, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty. Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in West Liberty. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013, with a wake service at 7 p.m., at the church. Additional visitation will be one hour before the service, Friday, August 9, 2013. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty, is in charge of the arrangements. Mary was born on November 17, 1927, in Graham Township in Johnson County, the daughter of James and Anna Jedlick Dvorsky. She graduated from Iowa City High School in 1946. She was employed as a lab tech with Proctor & Gamble in Iowa City for 25 years and as a nurse's aide on and off for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty, and a former member of St. Mary's and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John H. Ort who she married in 1974; a brother, Gabriel Dvorsky; a sister, Amelia Gunderson; one son, Michael Seydel; and granddaughter, Gretchen Seydel.
