Barbara Luther

Fitchburg - Barbara (Klocke) Luther, age 63, of Fitchburg passed away with dignity on Thursday, August 08, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare after fighting cancer for more than four years. Barb was born on April 30, 1950, in Sterling, Illinois, to Martha and Lloyd (Sonny) Klocke. She graduated from Newman High School in Sterling and from Edgewood College in Madison. On May 31, 1975, Barb married Tom Luther. She raised her three sons and was employed as a teacher at St. Peters, Ashton and Elm Lawn in Middleton; then Discovery Toys, Abbey Home Healthcare, St. Mary's Hospital, and Promega. She most enjoyed spending time with her family & friends, traveling, shopping and making her home a place where everyone felt welcome. She was known at home and at work for her famous chocolate chip cookies. Barb and Tom are members of Blessed Sacrament Parish. Barb is survived by her husband, Tom, and their three sons Kevin (Tara) Luther of Burnsville, MN and their two sons Nolan and Emmett; Greg (Jen) Luther of Tucson, AZ, and Joe Luther of Madison. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at BLESSED SACRAMENT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2115 Rowley Ave, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. An evening visitation will be held on Mon. Aug. 12, 2013 at Cress Center, 6021 University Avenue, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Lung Cancer Research at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
