illness kept him from it. Bernard also worked for Herschel Corporation in Indianola for 10 years. Bernard loved working with his hands and was always willing to help if someone needed it. He enjoyed going to antique tractor shows and tractor pulls. He loved having everyone together in the fall to practice the art of making molasses. He loved spending time with all his siblings and their families. He also loved his community and enjoyed going to the Rosemont, Germantown, and Bauer picnics. Bernard battled his cancer with grace and an optimistic spirit; he never let it get him down. He passed away August 13, 2013 in Chariton at the Legacy Lodge Hospice House. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lewis and Margaret, and siblings: Keith, Martin, Jerome, Delbert, and Jim. Bernard Putz is survived by his wife Darlene; son, Gene Putz; siblings: Larry (Carolyn) Putz, Marvin (Sue) Putz, Rose Hansen, Mae Chambers, and Carol (Dave) Wallace. Also surviving are sisters-in-law: Sonya Putz, Mary Lou Putz, and Betty Putz; mother-in-law, Mary Miller; along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
