She enjoyed fishing, playing scrabble, painting watercolors, writing her two unpublished fiction novels, gambling on the penny slot machines, and traveling to spend time with her family in Illinois and Colorado. Sandy will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years, Gary L. Williams of Muscatine; two daughters, Courtney Arnstein and husband, Jim, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Mary Jennifer Williams of Brooklyn, New York; one granddaughter, Anja Arnstein; her mother, Ethel Adams of Monmouth, Illinois; a sister, Pamela Thurman of Parker, Colorado; a brother, Russell Howard and wife, Barbara, of Kirkwood, Illinois; nine nephews and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her father; her step-father, David O. Adams; a brother, Charles Howard; and a half-brother, Clyde Howard.
