Matthew Maierhofer, of Kempster, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 51 years old. He was born on November 12, 1961 in Milwaukee, a son of Max Maierhofer who survives and lives in Deerbrook and the late Katharina (Leschinger) Maierhofer. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Germantown. He worked as a welder for Germantown Iron and Steel and Balcon Industries. In 1986 he moved to Kempster where he owned and operated the Kempster Inn. He also worked on the family farm in the town of Peck. His hobbies included collecting machinery, gardening, being a jack of all trades, raising pigs, time in the woods, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. toona, PA; an uncle Matt (Carol) Leschinger, Wheaton, IL; many aunts, uncles and cousins living in Germany. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother Michael Maierhofer. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva with Rev. Alvan Amadi officiating. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, with the rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m., at the Bradley Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9 - 10 a.m. also at the funeral home.
