Suzanne Marie Cusack

Suzanne Marie Cusack, age 76, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2013 in her home. Susie suffered from a variety of illnesses, including colon cancer, brittle bone disease and COPD just to name a few. She fought these illnesses, saying "When life gives you lemons...you make lemonade". She loved that quote and used it often. It would describe the death of her husband, Richard Lawrence Cusack on December 28, 1968, the passing of her parents, Vera and John "Gordy" Gay, the death of her brother in-law Harold Thomas Paltz and any other setbacks that would floor the average person. The passing of her sister, Jacqueline (Jackie) Ann Paltz, was not easily overcome. The three sisters (also known as the Gay girls) were very close. Both Beverly and Suzanne had moved away from Madison for varying amounts of time and returned to their home town and sister Jacqueline. Susie was full of energy, wit and sass. Susie had many friends and cared for them all deeply as they did for her. She could be the belle of the ball or the loyal employee, as she was for so many years at the 20 S. Park building. er grandchildren Darby and Camden Cusack. Susie never re-married becoming both a mother and father to her only child, John Charles Cusack, who was wed in 1992 to Catherine Brigitte Baird. Susie is survived by her sister Beverly Jean Hansen and brother in-law Wayne Norman Hansen. Susie's nieces and nephews gave her great joy and she the same to them...all seven of them. I leave you with the quote she sent the day before her death: "Regrets, I've had a few, too few to mention...I did it my way!" There will be a brief grave side service held at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison, at 10:30 on Friday August 23. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
