Lyle Edwards

Lyle Edwards, 72, of Fort Dodge, died August 22, 2013 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. In accordance with his wishes following cremation, private services will be held. Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are handling arrangements. Lyle E. Edwards, the son of Paul and Alberta (Farrington) Edwards, was born in Haskins, Iowa. He attended school in Muscatine, Iowa and then joined the U.S. Army. He served 27 years in the military and was able to see the world. He was stationed in Okinawa, Korea and several places throughout the United States. On March 12, 1976 he was united in marriage to Shirley Madison. After retirement he worked part-time at Bruce's Funeral Home and as a cook at Tom Thumb Drive In. Lyle enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, listening to music and playing his guitar, fishing and being with his beloved dog. Lyle is survived by his wife of 37 years, Shirley; his sons Jammie Edwards and Jodie Edwards of Pueblo, CO; his daughters Dea (Butch) Sorenson and Jennifer Warland all of Fort Dodge; his grandchildren Houston, Cowan, Aaliyah, Talen, Lace, Kevin, Patience, Bambie, Tasha; his sisters Marilie Hoskins of Columbus City, IA an...[more]
