Betty Ann Carpenter, age 74, formerly of Albia, Iowa passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at her residence in Phenix City, AL. She was born on September 8, 1938 in Albia, IA to Kenneth and Maria (Kline) Powers Sr.
She married Wallace Jack Carpenter on December 28, 1958, and they were blessed with four children. She is a past member of Lamp Baptist Church in Smith Station, AL. She enjoyed reading, quilting, and especially spending time with all her family.
She is survived by her children, Meredith (John) Sanders of Phenix City, AL, Clayton (Pam) Carpenter of Averdeen, NC, Melissa (Rob) Laufenberg of Smiths Station, AL, Daniel (Jennifer) Carpenter of El Paso TX; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister, Carol (Richard) Coon of Albia; sister-in-law Gerri (Allen) Archer of Ottumwa, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wallace, and brothers Harry and Kenneth Powers Jr.
