Virginia E. Musselman

Virginia E. Musselman, 91, of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. A service honoring Virginia's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Anita Johnson officiating. The visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Celebration Center at Friendship Haven. Visitation will then be one hour prior to service time on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family. Virginia is survived by her sons, R.J. (Mary) Musselman Jr., Manson; Dr. Dennis (Sherri) Musselman, Twin Lakes; three grandchildren, Jodi (Sean) Stickney, Louisiana, Cecil (Alicia) Musselman, Minnesota; Catherine (Jeremiah) Musselman, Wisconsin; two great-grandchildren, Devin and Logan; and her siblings, Dorothy Crittenden, Minnesota, Robert Keeler, Bernard Keeler and Evelyn Michehl, all of Fort Dodge. 29, 1922, in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1940, and from St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Sioux City in 1944, where she received her training in nursing. On August 18, 1944, Virginia was united in marriage to Roland J. Musselman in Gowrie. Virginia worked as a nurse at Lutheran (Trinity Regional) Hospital in many departments and retired in 1992 as night shift nursing supervisor, after 47 years of service in nursing. Virginia enjoyed bowling on the hospital bowling team and she rode her bicycle well into her 70s. Virginia cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
