NANCY JEANNE SHERWOOD DURANT, Iowa -- Nancy Jeanne Sherwood, 65, of Durant, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Nate Montover. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, 2013, from 3 until 6 p.m. at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. A memorial has been established in her memory for her grandchildren's education. Nancy was born June 23, 1948 to Hunnas and Darlene Giesel First in Muscatine. She graduated from Durant High School in 1967. She married Randall Adamson in Durant, she later married Henry Stevens in Davenport, and married Jimmy R. Sherwood on February 14, 2004, in Wilton. Nancy was a custodian at the University of Iowa. Previously, she had worked at the Muscatine Mall and the Wilton rest area on Interstate 80. Nancy enjoyed baking, cooking and dancing. She loved to do crafts especially sewing and beadwork. She was her family's photographer and took hundreds of photos. Above all, she loved her family and grandchildren.
