orked the past thirty years at IMT as a supervisor. On February 1, 1998 he married Nora Wood. They lived in Garner until moving to their acreage north of Garner twelve years ago. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, gardening and taking care of his John Deere lawn equipment. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garner and was one of the founding members of the Garner Volunteer Ambulance Service in 1974. Steve is survived by his wife, Nora, of Garner; his mother, Rena Claude Freiberg of Garner; two children, Sarah (Stacy) Datema of Garner and their three children, Kylee, Tucker and Karter and Steven E. (Teresa) Claude and their soon-to-be born, baby Claude; a step-son, Sean (Jodi) Kenneally of Grimes and their two children, Bailey and Avery; a sister, Nancy (Jim) Haan of Garner; a brother, Tony (JoAnn) Claude of Heron Lake, MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter in 1984; and former wife, Kristena in 1992.
