Robert C. "Bob" Miller WALCOTT, Iowa--Robert C. "Bob" Miller, 86, of Walcott, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at his home. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 100 East James, Walcott, Iowa 52773. Burial will be in Walcott Cemetery, Walcott. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013, at the church. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Bentley Funeral Home in Durant is in charge of the arrangements. Bob was born on January 19, 1927, in Muscatine, the son of Lewis and Minnie Brase Miller. He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1945. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Bob married Cora M. Linder on April 4, 1948, in New Era, Iowa. Bob was a union carpenter retiring in 1985. He also built numerous homes as personal projects in Walcott, Muscatine and Grandview. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Walcott, and the Carpenters Union Local #4. He enjoyed traveling, playing games, shuffle board and bowling. Bob is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Cora Miller of Walcott; a daughter, Cheryl Jackson and husband, Robert, of Elkhart, Indiana; sons, Steven Miller and wife, Susan, of Grandview, and Kevin Miller of Davenport; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his brother, David Miller of Wilton. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Miller.
