Doris Caplan

Caplan,Doris (Tureck) Doris Caplan passed away of pneumonia in San Rafael, California on September 13, 2013. She was 86 years old at the time of her death. The youngest of four sisters, Doris was born on October 2, 1926 in Sioux City, Iowa to Anna and Louis Rivin, where she graduated from Central High School and attended Morningside College. Doris was preceded in death by her sisters, Esther Rivin and Eunice Dobrofsky. Her eldest sister, Lillian Lelchook continues to reside in Sioux City. Doris met and married Sam Tureck in Los Angeles, California. They were married in 1948 and had three children, Ron, Harvey and Laurie Tureck. After Sam's passing in 1978, Doris later married Sidney Caplan in 1985. Doris was a loving mother and step-mother and was adored by her grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Alex, Daniel, Simone and Savannah, and by her many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and so many loving friends over the years.
