with two sons, Michael and Roger. The couple purchased and moved to a farm south of Red Oak, Iowa in 1974. Dale and Doris were married 62 years when Doris passed away on December 19, 2009. Dale continued to live on the farm until he moved to live in Malvern and his only granddaughter Jenni and her family now live in his farm house near Red Oak. Dale enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and antique tractors. He loved spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren. Dale was a wonderful father and grandfather. Due to declining health, Dale entered Glen Haven Home in Glenwood, Iowa. He passed away on September 16, 2013 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 7 days. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Valda; stepfather and uncle, Homer "Chuck" Alexander; grandson Chad Michael Alexander; sister Edith Clark and husband Alfred; brothers-in-law, George Clark Jr, Cecil Clark, and Don Benson; and sisters-in-law, Hazel Edie and husband Ed, and Linda Davis. Dale is survived by his sons, Mike Alexander and wife Phyllis of Malvern, and Roger Alexander and wife Debi of Griswold, IA; four grandchildren, Joshua Alexander and wife Jenny of Griswold, Jenni Mayberry and husband Trevor of Red Oak, Travis Alexander of Malvern, and Jacob Alexander and wife Kim of Silver City; two great grandsons, Damon Lefever and Davis Mayberry; three step grandchildren, Zayne Dolph, Tatum Dolph, and Jeg Updike; sisters-in-law, Betty Benson of Las Vegas, NV, Jennie Clark of Des Moines, IA, and Karen Clark of Red Oak; several nieces and nephews; extended relatives; and a host of friends.
