Eugene Jones MARTINSBURG, Iowa--Eugene Jones, 67, passed away September 16, 2013, at Serenity Hospice in Oskaloosa. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Fremont Funeral Chapel. Reverend Bill Hornback will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Martinsburg. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the funeral home with family present from 5 until7 p.m. Eugene was born on March 16, 1946, in Oskaloosa, the son of Floyd H. and Eileen E. Ferns Jones. He graduated from Pekin High School in 1965. Following graduation he worked at Hayesville Lumber, Fairfield Aluminum, and John Deere Ottumwa Works retiring from there in 1999. He was united in marriage to Juanita Conger in Richland, on June 6, 1965. Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, arrow head and relic hunting, woodworking, and spending the winters in Arizona. His greatest love was his family and his constant companion "Buffy." Tiffany Hummell; a step-great-granddaughter, Gracie; a sister, Caroline Seaba and husband, Donald, of Atalissa; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a great niece.
