Nola E. Callen KALONA, Iowa -- Nola Edith Callen, 88, of Washinton, Iowa, formerly of Lone Tree, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the Pleasantview Care Center. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Service, Lone Tree. Burial will take place in Lone Tree Cemetery. Following the committal service at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013, at the funeral home. Nola was born on July 6, 1925, in Madison County, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Lela Kirlin Harrison. On February 7, 1944, Nola was united in marriage to Clair F. Callen in Salina, Kansas. Nola was a lab tech at the University of Iowa, retiring after 23 years. Nola will be deeply missed by her children, Bill Callen and wife, Joyce, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, and Lois Roth and husband, Steven, of Washington; a son-in-law, Charles Rath of Streator, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, John Broshar of Centervill...[more]
