Mildred Ella Saunders

Mildred E. Saunders, 81, of Keokuk, Iowa, and formerly of Maquoketa, died on Monday, September 30, 2013, at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa. A celebration of Mildred's life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, October 5, 2013, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be at the Sutton Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa. Mildred Ella Miller was born on May 13, 1932 in Clinton County, Iowa, to William O. and Lena (Engel) Miller. She grew up in Maquoketa and attended Maquoketa schools. She married Raymond H. Saunders on October 6, 1951 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1999. Mildred was a housewife who dedicated her life to her family. She and Raymond had lived in Maquoketa until 1988 when they moved to Keokuk. Mildred enjoyed playing bingo and watching old television shows with her favorites being The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy and the Golden Girls.
