Donna Jean Coffield

Donna Jean Coffield, 84, of Keokuk, died at 5:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at River Hills of Keokuk. Donna was born May 9, 1929, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of B.L. and Dorella Weicher Robinson. She married John T. Coffield at St. Patrick's Catholic Church November 6, 1948, in Burlington. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2004. Donna moved to Keokuk in 1968, as co-owner of B.L. Robinson Electric Corp., later Coffield Electric, retiring in 1981. She was a member of All Saints Parish. She served on the Keokuk Park Board, participated in the Iowa Women's' Political Caucus, was a founding member of Coalition Against Family Violence, and volunteered for Main Street Keokuk. Some of her favorite pastimes included watching the Mississippi, feeding birds, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She was devoted to her faith and family. Kendra (Wade) Morgan, Katina, Keely, and Kieron Coffield, Lindsay (Josh) Faber, Matthew and Meaghan Bauer, Michael, Katherine, and Sarah Geltz, David Stice Jr. (Amanda), Claire and Collin Coffield, Austin and Aiden Derr; two great grandchildren, Kaiden Tallarico and Madalyn Faber. A brother, Richard Robinson and three sisters, Patricia McGoon, Mary Lee Hauser, Joyce Adamson, and brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Rosalie Taylor. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Cristine Tallarico; her parents; son-in-law, Bill Bauer, grandson, Brian Stice; a brother and two sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 12, 2013, at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Robert Lathrop officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 PM Friday, October 11, 2013 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 1212 Concert Street with family meeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Christian Wake service will be at 8:00 PM In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Vincent's Elementary School.
