Erin passed away November 3, 2013 at the Clarinda Regional Health Center in Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Riverton Cemetery. Erin Elizabeth (Mortimore) Mills was born in Hamburg, IA on February 15, 1978 to Alan and Betty Mortimore. Erin passed away suddenly in the early morning of November 3, 2013 in Clarinda, IA. Erin grew up in Shenandoah, IA. She attended Shenandoah High School. She later got her GED from Iowa Western Community College. She loved life and learning and was aspiring to be a veterinarian before her health started to decline. She had always loved animals and owned many cats, dogs, birds, ferrets, or any stray she could take in. Erin had a very kind heart. Her nephew, Dustin Baker, was a major part of her life. She raised him for many years while he was young, and cared for him as if he were her own son. Erin stayed apart of his life as he grew up and started his own family. She also had two more sons, David Emilio Gomez and Randall Alan Howard who were also a huge part of her world. Family was something Erin cherished most and kept close to her throughout her life. Erin was preceded in death by her late brother David Baker, late sister Heather Nicole Mortimore, late Uncle Richard Andrews, and late grandparents Adolph and Sarah Mortimore. Erin leaves behind husband Ryan Mills of Clarinda, IA, father and stepmother Alan and Kathleen Mortimore of Essex, IA, mother and stepfather Maurice and Betty Rogers of Shenandoah, IA, nephew and wife Dustin and Jasmin Baker of Shenandoah, IA, great nieces and nephew Isabella, Aubrey, and Luis Baker of Shenandoah, IA, sons David Emilio Gomez and Randall Alan Howard, sisters Megan, Kelly, and Holly Mortimore of Council Bluffs, IA, brothers Seth and Michael Mortimore of Essex, IA, sister Madeline Mortimore of Essex, IA, brother and sister-in-law Aaron and Becky Mortimore of Fremont, NE, nephews Dylan and Devin Davis of Clarinda IA, sister Darla Davis of Clarinda, IA, and a host of friends and other relatives.
