Eugene L. Marquardt

Eugene L. "Gene" Marquardt, age 73, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on August 5, 1940 to August and Doris (Hanson) Marquardt in Eau Claire. Gene was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He was employed with the State of Wisconsin for over 30 years. Gene enjoyed hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, coaching, and spending time with his grandkids. Gene is survived by his children, Kelly (Lee Retzlaff) Marquardt, Dennis Marquardt, Jaye Marquardt, Tasha (Jim) Clark; grandchildren, Thomas, Ryan, Kadijha, Tyler, Treccy, and Courtney; and a sister, Sharon Reider. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A visitation will be held from 12 Noon until the time of service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.[more]
