Vironda Irene Baker

Vironda Irene Campbell Baker, 85, of Yarmouth, died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Prairie Ridge Care and Rehab, Mediapolis. She was born January 10, 1928 in Yarmouth to Dr. Nathan and Hazel A. Gilleard Campbell. She married K. Richard Baker in Yarmouth on January 1, 1949. Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Yarmouth High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington. She was a registered nurse for 46 years, at Mercy Hospital, Burlington Medical Center and Great River Medical Center. She was a member of the former Yarmouth United Methodist Church and a member of the Mt. Pleasant First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, drawing, cats, giving advice and her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, of Yarmouth, one daughter, Ruth Ann (Larry) Stewart of Danville, three sons, Dennis Steven (Patti Myers) Baker of Sperry, Nathan Karl Baker of Burlington and Rick Robert (Renee) Baker of Sperry; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother in infancy and two grandsons, Corey and Seth Baker.
