Ina L. Cooper

Services for Ina Cooper will be Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 1: p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Lacona. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas on Saturday. Memorials are requested to her church. Ina L. Herold was born on May 27, 1937 at home near Lacona to Ira and Irene (Baumgarten) Herold. She graduated from Lacona High School in 1955. Ina met Myron Cooper as he pushed her car out of a snowdrift in front of the apartment building where they both lived. They were married on July 29, 1962 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. They were blessed with four children: David, Daniel, DeAnn, and Doran. Ina worked as a homemaker and later as custodian at the Melcher-Dallas Schools. She also loved to bake and decorate cakes for weddings and especially for all her grandchildren's birthdays. She was very faithful, hardworking, and dedicated to her family and her community. She was active in her church and loved to help her family, friends, and neighbors. Ina was the one everyone called to get something organized in church or the neighborhood. She is survived by her husband Myron Cooper; children: David (Tonya) Cooper of Melcher, Daniel (Jennifer) Cooper of Baltimore, DeAnn (Bill) Spicer of West Des Moines, and Doran Cooper of West Des Moines; 12 grandchildren: Sierra, Jeremy, Nica, Tori, Courtney, Nichole, Kayla, Aaron, Nick, Baylie, Jaylen, and Ross; and a great grandson Harrison. Also surviving are siblings: Carol (Harry) Agan and Nilus Herold and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
