asons and they had a place at Mill Lake in Alexandria for spring, summer and fall months for twenty years. Hope and Adrian moved to Alexandria, Minnesota on January 15, 2005 following their respective retirements from teaching and TORO management and it was there that they both enjoyed their retirements. Music was a great love for them both, as well as cards, reading, attending concerts, travel, fishing and Hope also enjoyed embroidery work and sewing. Adrian passed away in 2008. After his death, Hope spent many hours with friends at the Senator and shared her love of playing the piano for friends and family. She stayed active and met all of life's challenges with grace, strength and courage and was truly an inspiration to us all. Recently, Hope was diagnosed with cancer and fought the disease courageously until passing away at her home on Friday evening, November 29th, 2013 at the age of 93 years. Hope was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom and St. Mary's in Alexandria in later years. In addition to their three daughters and spouses, Hope had 6 grandchildren, Mark (Becca) Stern from Hermantown and their children, Nikki and Logan; Kelly (Joe) Stelflug from Richfield; Jason Fredin (Steve Huber) of Eagan and Steve's daughter, Alyssa; Brad (Amy) Fredin of Cold Spring and their children, Sam, Kate, Max and Gabe; Meredith (Bruce) Runge of Farwell and their children, Kade, Brooklyn, and Quinn; Paul Zunkel of San Marcos, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Hope is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adrian Hislop; infant son, Paul; and one brother, Dallas Noble.
