Marion I. Holmes

Marion I. Holmes, 86 of Ambler PA, died Sunday in the Abington Health-Lansdale Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (nee Snitzius) Wagner. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her husband William J. Holmes, Sr. in 1982, her daughter Marian I. Wells in 1993 and her Daughter in Law Barbara Holmes in 1999. She was a Homemaker, and had worked as a store Clerk at the former Harris Department Store in Ambler prior to her retirement in 1975. Mrs. Holmes was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler, where she was a member of the former Ladies Guild and Bowling Leagues. Marion is the devoted mother of William J. Holmes, Jr. of Ambler, and Mark F. Holmes and his wife Mary Beth of Harleysville, PA. She is the loving grandmother of Steven, Shane, Bryan, Kristen & Stephanie and Great Grandmother of Patrick. She is also survived by her sister Ann Murphy of Deptford, NJ.
